Your null dc config is slightly diffrent than mine.. You also do not need loaders with this method.
Delete you nulldc.cfg and run the app again... Manually edit the sections in RED that Ive referred to in a few other posts and try it again..

If you have any problems just respond. I have not had anyone not get this methond working.

Thanks for the reply Brian.

I deleted my nulldc config, and then ran it. I then edited and saved the 3 lines you mentioned. I still get the same exact problem, just a desktop. When I hit escape, I return to GameEx. As I mentioned before, your GameEx config posted in this thread has the following line:

configFile=nes

I don not have any file named that in my GameEx install. Could this be my problem? I will post my GameEx config and my NullDC config again below:

another thing I just noticed when I now try to run NullDC outside of GameEx. I now get an error message saying "Default Image "AEEa" failed to load.

I dont believe nulldc supports native NRG files..
Let me know when you can be available online and we can go through this.

It runs them fine outside of GameEx. Where is this default.cdi supposed to be? I don't see this anywhere either.

Its a placeholder in the nulldc config.. What my command does is inject the path and romname into that field..
This is why once you set to loaddefault to 1 it loads the game selected. Then autostarts emulation.
Im sure this problem is in your command line/ config

Hello ...again as this being my second post and I must say I love the GameEX front-end. I just donated and got the registration key but I didn't want to install the program until I fully know how to put emulators and roms on it so I am still using the so-called "trial" version. Ok, as I was reading post after post after post from 8am to now it's a quarter to 5, I too have NullDC and don't have the slightest idea of how to get it on GameEX. I haven't done anything to even get started and was hoping a step-by-step processes on how to do it. I would hate to screw something up if I'm doing it by myself. I feel good saying this to you guys because as I can see you all have patience which your community ...thanks and much apprec.

Registered users don't get a different version of the program, so there's no reason to hold off. All you get is some new features that make some things a lot nicer (automatic updates is awesome)!

Ok, I'll go ahead and install the program, but ah could ya help me installing NullDC? Man, it would be nice if you guys posted an "How to install emulators and roms for Newbs" because I know my next question will be if I can get help installing Zsnes as well.

Actually, there have been a ton of those threads posted recently. There was actually a huge thread about setting up Zinc and getting controls set up right. In my opinion, Zinc is the hardest emu to set up correctly just because of the video and controller plugins let alone the fact that you load games by numbers rather than a rom name...

Hi BlackMage,

I don't have NullDC, but I can give you a couple of basic tips for Gameex. I also don't have Gameex on this machine, so this is from memory.
1. Start the "Setup Wizard" and choose "custom". Select "Download Emulators", and "Set up Emulators" click next.
2. Don't kill me, I don't think NullDC is one of the emulators on the list to download, but for future reference check first before installing.

More tips:
1. When you are using the setup wizard to "set up emulators" there are 4 pages for each emulator (I think they are selected from a box)
2. You can use the "search" feature in the setup wizard to take you to specific topics.

Regarding NullDC, I would start by downloading the Loader in post#18 of this thread, follow the instructions in #20, and if you have any problems, continue to read the rest of the thread to see if your question has been answered. If that doesn't work, report back here. (report back anyways, I like it when someone says "I got it")

An horrid stillness first invades the ear, And in that silence we the Tempest fear.

Blackmage,
You dont need a loader. You need nulldc...the bios files.... And a few games...
download the emulator... Place the Bios files in the DATA directory. They are named
dc_boot.bin and dc_flash.bin. Then load up an ISO. If it works then we are ready to configure gameex.
In this thread and many others there is step by step command and CFG info.. Let us know where you get stuck.
