2. Set up your config for chankast...
[Emulator_4] Enabled=True StartPageName=Dreamcast TitleText=Dreamcast StartPageLogo=dreamcast RomFilter=*.lnk RomsInFolders=False ROMPath=D:\Games\Dreamcast SnapPath=D:\Games\Dreamcast\snap WorkingPath=D:\Games\Chankast MapKeys=False WaitBeforeKeys= SendKeys= ReplaceDash=False ReplaceUnder=False Capitals=False RemoveBrackets=False AlsoLaunch= ShowDesktop=False Debug=False MapFile= OLDatZip= Command=[ROMPath]\[RomFile] TitlePath= BoxPath= LaunchBefore= LaunchAfter= CartPath= configFile= ExcludedFiles=
3. Read the FAQ make sure you have the correct version of Daemon Tools etc.
4. Run chankast emulator after mounting a game, check the drive letter is setup to your mounted image drive letter. Does the game play ok when you try launching it manually, Is your image self bootable? Check that also, or convert it to self boot using ExoBoot. Still not working? Read the FAQ again.
5. Setup shortcuts to chankast_launch.exe for each game... Eg.
Eg. D:\Games\Chankast\chankast_launch.exe -screen 1280x1024 -fullscreen -cpu 108 -showstats -daemon "C:\Program Files\D-Tools\daemon.exe" 0 "D:\Games\Dreamcast\roms\Game.cdi"

Here is a ".Zip" file with Working GameEX Config Settings along with all the needed ".bat" & ".au3" files.
If you use or want to use Autoit 3.0, this is a great way to run all those Sega Saturn games.
You can also setup the "*.au3" files to use other keys to exit the emulator /and/or/game being run besides the "Escape" key.
Just use "Notepad" or some other text editor to edit the script file.
*NOTE* To use the Autoit 3.0 Script files, you need to have installed on your
computer, the Autoit 3.0 program. These files are not stand alone.
I hope this helps out some of you Sega Saturn fans.

I uninstalled DT 4.0.3, then installed Daemon Tools 4.0, rebooted and it works again.
Looks like DT 4.0.3 conflicts with Chankast. Anyone else experience this?

You must install the Karaoke for DirectX plugin from this site first
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.p...lease_id=251382
The custom config file for "karaoke" is also attached
Note, these are obviously txt files and will need to be renamed/edited to whatever you want.

The two packages show you how to run a PC Game wih and without the need or use of DOSBox (for those older Dos based games).
What I've done is wrote a crued (I mean crued, becasue I am new to this) script to run the games with "Autoit 3.0" along with some batch files. The "ReadMe.txt" file inclosed will tell you how to write the batch files needed, configer GameEX to run the games of your choice, create a batch file to mount/unmount a cd/dvd game with daemon tools and run it in GameEX. It will also tell you what you need as far as programs to use to get the game up and running.
The "PC_DOSBox_Games_Config".zip package has all the files you need for a game installed on your computer and does not require the cd to play, and for a game installed on your computer but does need the game to play. (and how to get around the needing the cd to play part!)
The "PC_Games_Config.zip" package has all the files you need for a game installed on your computer but does not require DOSBox to run it. You can also use the files in the first package with this package to run games that still require the cd to play.
After you have configured one game (timely I'm sure) you can just copy the files for other games and the work only takes about 2 minutes per game.
The Autoit script file also gives you the abiltiy to set up your exit key to EXIT the Game, ie: BACKSPACE, TAB, etc...
The one good thing I do like though, is if your game ever hangs on you, hitting the configured "EXIT" key will terminate the program and take you back to GameEX.
I hope this helps someone out there, or even gives you an idea to make something you've done better.

My first ini file and it's not even for an emulator. But it is for something real cool.
GoogleEarth
http://earth.google.com/
To get joystick control over the mouse you need two programs.
1. Joy2Mouse 3 [control the mouse while Google Earth is running]
http://atzitznet.no-ip.org/Joy2Mouse3/
2. Process Killer (terminates the "joy 2 mouse.exe" process so as to
not interfere with Gamex once finished planet browsin)
http://www.beyondlogic.org/solutions/proce...processutil.htm
The download link is at the bottom of the page of the above link.
Installed Joy2mouse NOT to startup with windows but I do recommend adding
Joybutton 03 as middle button to rotate and saving over default joystick profile
[AlsoLaunch=D:\GamexUtils\Joy2Mouse\Joystick 2 Mouse.exe]
*The launch before command stalls google earth starting so use also launch.*
Manually configured GoogleEarth to be fullscreen etc as you want it to open up from within Gamex.
Made a folder to hold process.exe which is a simple process killer.
[LaunchAfter=D:\GamexUtils\Process\Process.exe -k "Joystick 2 Mouse.exe"]

Supported formats: RMVB / RM / MOV / MPEG2 / SVCD / DVD / AVI / DIVX (QuickTime, and RealVideo, require codec)
Create Shortcuts of your media to one folder, or move the media to one folder (remove the *.lnk from the Romfilter if not using the shortcut method).

(/play /close /fullscreen= Starts playing immediately in fullscreen, and closes once the media is over)
Media Player Classic can be controlled by a MCE Remote, or hotkeys of your choice (you can use a 'config file' 'C:\Program Files\GameEx MCE\CONFIG\EMULATORS' to map virtual keys to your gamepad).
Be sure to take advantage of the Realtime Zoom (PnS Inc Size, and PnS Dec Size, in the Player/Key options).

#01 -> Download WinAPE from here. As of this posting, the current version is 2.0a8. So grab that. If a newer version is released, it has not been tested to work with this config.
#02 -> Download Nologic's WinAPE wrapper from here.
#03 -> Download your romset from somewhere.
#04 -> Create a folder on your system to hold all these files. I used a subfolder in my games folder called "Amstrad CPC" but you can use whatever you want.
#05 -> Extract WinAPE and the wrapper to that newly created folder.
#06 -> Move your romset to a new folder (current rom folder is for system bios's).
#07 -> Launch WinAPE and configure your settings like this:

#08 -> Key things to change: Disable Automatic Update (the most recent version is falsely reporting a new update everytime the program loads), Hide Control Panel, Hide Menus, DirectSound, 44kHz, 16-bit, Stereo (if no sound options are changed, Window's sounds will be distorted if WinAPE crashes..), configure joystick if needed.
#09 -> Exit the settings box and press [F10] to make the program run in full-screen. Then press [ALT]+[F4] to close the program.
#10 -> In GameEx Setup Wizard, create a new emulator and configure it to use the root new folder for the working path, the new rom folder as the rom path, MAP KEYS, 7-zip enabled.
#11 -> Command Line: Simple_Wrapper.exe "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]"
#12 -> If you have them or plan to in the future, you can create and setup paths for the artwork too.
#13 -> Try it and enjoy it!

If you're a comic fan (like myself) and like to read the latest comics (marvel and so on) you might be familiar with the format. The CDisplay is similar to Adobe Acrobat in functionality, but has fully customizable controls that makes it great for viewing pictures that you can store zipped on your harddrive (excellent for those "special collections"
Here's the emulator .ini to use CDisplay with GameEx:
[Emulator_1] Enabled=True STARTPAGENAME=Comic - Ultimate Spider-Man TITLETEXT=Ultimate Spider-Man StartPageLogo= ROMFilter=*.cbr;*.cbz RomsInFolders=False RomPath=D:\Comics\Ultimate Spider-Man SnapPath=D:\Comics\Ultimate Spider-Man\covers TitlePath= BoxPath= CartPath= WorkingPath=C:\Program Files\CDisplay MapKeys=True WaitBeforeKeys= SendKeys= ReplaceDash=True ReplaceUnder=True Capitals=True RemoveBrackets=True ShowDesktop=True Debug=False MAPFile= AlsoLaunch= Command=cdisplay.exe "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]" OLDatZip= LaunchBefore= LaunchAfter= configFile= ExcludedFiles= CustomBackground= PlayMusic= PCGame= DATABASE= GamesIn7Zips= PlayInScreenSaver=False [GENERAL] DumbyValue=

It should look some thing like this:
[Directories] ScreenShots = f:\emulation\emu\arcade\raine\screens\ rom_dir_0 = f:\emulation\roms\arcade\raine\ cheat_file = cheats.cfg language_file = english.cfg
Next make sure your display values are correct...should look like so:
[Display] video_mode = 0 screen_x = 1680 screen_y = 1050 scanlines = 0 stretch = 2 video_fps = 15 rotate = 0 flip = 0 no_rotate = 0 no_flip = 0 auto_mode_change = 0 fix_aspect_ratio = 1 prefered_yuv_format = 0 fullscreen = 1 double_buffer = 1
Tho my X & Y values are probably not right for your system.
Trust me 50.4 works fine via the CLI as I've spent some time toying with raine in the past.
