[RESOLVED] GAMEEX Video snap Zinc

pisuke

Recommended Posts

It seems like a few people have been having this issue lately. For GameEx installations running on Windows 7, we recommend installing the Shark Codec pack to enable MP4 video playback in GameEx (regardless of whether the videos play in other media players). The recommended version is available for download from the PinballX home page.

Not yet, just ruling out a possible simple issue before going into something more complex. Stay tuned...

The first thing I noticed via your gameex.ini file is that you are not using the integrated Zinc support. That is OK if you prefer to run it via a separate emulator slot as I see in Emulator slot # 4. Here are my question for you:

- Are the video snaps named as games or numbers?

If named, likely your map file for the emulator is looking for file names as numbers. You can try renaming the snaps to the corresponding numbers in the Zinc Map file. You can read about the issue and possible resolution here. The user opted for the integrated Zinc support instead which you can read about how to setup and where to place your ROMS and snaps here.

Let us know which direction you take and your results. Be prepared to provide updated gameex.ini and log.txt files if you are unable to resolve yourself.

The video for mame needs to match the rom name, or at least be close. A map file isn't going to help you out here.

Have you tried using the integrated Zinc support as suggested? It will require that you copy the roms to your mame roms folder and your video snaps to the mame video snaps folder. Follow the directions link that I provided previously if you decide to try that option.
