nullPointer
It seems like a few people have been having this issue lately. For GameEx installations running on Windows 7, we recommend installing the Shark Codec pack to enable MP4 video playback in GameEx (regardless of whether the videos play in other media players). The recommended version is available for download from the PinballX home page.

pisuke
Ok. Thanks. If you need some tests or other stuff let me know. All the other emulators play mp4 corrextly
Draco1962
The first thing I noticed via your gameex.ini file is that you are not using the integrated Zinc support. That is OK if you prefer to run it via a separate emulator slot as I see in Emulator slot # 4. Here are my question for you:- Are the video snaps named as games or numbers? If named, likely your map file for the emulator is looking for file names as numbers. You can try renaming the snaps to the corresponding numbers in the Zinc Map file. You can read about the issue and possible resolution here. The user opted for the integrated Zinc support instead which you can read about how to setup and where to place your ROMS and snaps here.Let us know which direction you take and your results. Be prepared to provide updated gameex.ini and log.txt files if you are unable to resolve yourself.
pisuke
snaps are named as game name. is there a map file that use name instead numbers? i think it s a hard work rename all the games... you say that if i use zinc integration i see the game in mame >zninc game with the movie ok? Adultery
The video for mame needs to match the rom name, or at least be close. A map file isn't going to help you out here.
nullPointer
Yes the distinction here is that your media files need to match the ROM names (i.e. the file names) rather than your game names (i.e. the names that appear in GameEx - these come from your map file). Draco1962
Therein lies the rub. I think it would probably work out best to use the built in Zinc support as opposed to trying to run Zinc separately.
pisuke
Later i will try to rename a couple affitto mp4. Thanks Stay tuned
pisuke
i verified. the name of the mp4/snapshot is the same of the game.... for all games...
Draco1962
Have you tried using the integrated Zinc support as suggested? It will require that you copy the roms to your mame roms folder and your video snaps to the mame video snaps folder. Follow the directions link that I provided previously if you decide to try that option.
pisuke
another question.now all the video matches but i notice that the game doesent't start.... ex tec romancer indicate in the bottom different files....none of them starts... but if i select to start in mame they start... pisuke
i definitely resolved using in mame with my settings. all seems ok. better than use a separate emulator. you can close the thread. thanks for all replies
