[RESOLVED] PinballX and DMD Videos

Hey guys,

Trying to get the .\PinballX\Media\Visual Pinball\DMD Videos to work properly on a 3rd PC monitor.

I should be able to drop a video into this directory and have it play on my 3rd monitor, right?

TABLE is named "AttachFromMars_FS_B2S" so I have a file there called "AttachFromMars_FS_B2S.mp4".

If I drop this mp4 file into the .\PinballX\Media\Visual Pinball\Backglass Videos folder, it works just fine, albeit on my 2nd monitor instead.

I have tried ALT-TAB to see if it was running on the 3rd monitor when I have it in the DMD Videos folder, but nothing is running in the background/hidden.

I have also tried using the .\PinballX\Media\Visual Pinball\Real DMD Videos folder, and it also does not work.

Any suggestions to get this puppy to run on a 3rd monitor?

David

I think it is best to have the media images and video filenames based on the description name you have in the XML file, For AFM, something like Attack from Mars (Midway 1995).mp4 or Attack from Mars (Midway 1995).mp4

Ok, got wrapped around the axle a bit with all of these different/similar folder names.

This is what I did to fix.

1. Make sure DMD was enabled in "PinballX.ini". Had to play around with the monitor value since it didn't seem to match my actual monitor identity values. "=1" seemed to drop it in the correct spot.

[DMD]

Enabled=True

monitor=1

2. Make sure "No DMD" files are in the root (this was already the case, but needs to be there for tables with no DMD)

.\PinballX\Media\Video\No DMD.mp4

.\PinballX\Media\VIdeo\No Real DMD.avi

3. Make sure Visual Pinball table name in XML matches the Video file name, and is located properly.

.\MYVisualPinballLocation\Tables\tableA.vpt <-- My table filename

.\PinballX\Media\Visual Pinball\DMD Videos\tableA.mp4 <-- My video for DMD to display on this table

NOTE: These DMD videos are to play during the menu, and do not play when the game is running. This is by design.

Anyway, thanks for the reply...

David
