Hi Qwerty1979 and Welcome to the PinballX Forums

Sorry to hear about the problem you're experiencing. Unfortunately crashes related to ntdll.dll can be emblematic of environmental issues with Windows, and specifically there can be drivers involved.

I know that AMD recently updated their drivers, so that might be one possibility to investigate. I haven't used it in a long time, but Windows Driver Verifier can be a useful tool in this capacity. Likewise it might be helpful to rollback to an earlier version of the driver if that's a possibility for you.

There's been an update or two to PinballX since the original post. I recommend updating to the latest version and providing copies of your pinballx.ini and log.txt files if the issue persists post update.

You may want to check about the Web to see if there are any problems related to similar app crashes as related to the latest driver update for your GPU.

I am still leaning towards something off in either of your environments and not PinballX proper. If It was specifically caused by PinballX, we should see many more reports out of our total membership that uses the program. Have you tried an older driver for your GPU as was suggested?

The GPU driver is old, multiple months. It have not been updated.

There are other people reporting the same issue : http://www.vpforums.org/index.php?showtopic=30968

It looks to be all with Radeon cards, it may explain why it's not reported as often as usually people recommend an nVidia card for the cabinet builds on the forums, so probably less AMD users...

It's indeed related with a system update as it stopped working all of a sudden, but trying to revert the last updates did not work either. But I have no other software crashing on the machine either...

Guys, let's try this:

1. Run SFC scan via an elevated command line. At the command prompt, type SFC /snannow and hit ENTER. You can read about this command here. Take note of any messages that may display in the window. Restart the PC.
2. To re-register ntdll.dll, Click on Start, then Run. Type regsvr32 C:\Windows\System32\ ntdll.dll in the Run field and hit ENTER. Restart the PC
3. You may want to try reinstalling the latest DirectX if you haven't already.
Let us know if any of these suggestions work.

What catalyst release are you running?

A member over in the GameEx General forum seems to have narrowed his crashing problem down to possibly being related to the Raptor client in the full suite catalyst release. If you got it installed it may be worth giving uninstalling it a shot.
