[RESOLVED] Sega Saturn Games greyed out

Hi, and thank you for this awesome frontend.
I've another setup with Hyperspin, but Gameex is simple yet effective.
I have many emulators up and running (Mame, Psx, Sega Genesis, Commodore CD32, and so on), but Saturn setup made me crazy.
I've tried with retroarch and SSF, but all games in my Sega Saturn section are greyed out.
Look at the screenshot attached to this topic, and you understand.

Outside Gameex, all the games are working fine (tried with Retroarch and SSF).
I've checked every single 7zip'ed file (all my games are 7zipped) with 7zip verify option. No problem at all.
Also 7zip are enabled in advanced emulator setup.
Tried with SSF and "Virtual Drive Loader" plugin, same thing.
Can you help me?
Thanks

Hi kyosan and Welcome to the GameEx Forums!

You mentioned that you have everything operating fine outside of GameEx with Retroarch. Do you need to unzip your 7zipped files prior to running them outside of GameEx? If the answer is no, you'll want to change this to false:

GamesIn7Zips=True

7zip support in GameEx is intended for use with emulators that don't support direct loading of zipped roms (i.e it will unzip them prior to launching the emulator).

Likewise, have you double checked the format of your disc images?

RomFilter=*.cue, *.ccd

If your disc images don't match this formatting, that might cause the issue you're seeing.

Let us know how it goes.

thank you for your reply.

of course i'vve double checked everything.

roms must be unzipped before pass them to the emulator, as Retroarch does not support 7zipped roms.

also i have checked content of zipped roms..some are cue/bin, some others are ccd/img .

every combination work with retroarch outside Gameex.

Tried also with SSF, same thing occur with gameex, games are grayed out.

Well I've seen this sort of thing happen before, (with this thread being a possible match to your issue), but top be honest your settings look pretty good (assuming there's nothing missing). I'm wondering though ... it appears that you've made some back to back adjustments on this emulator slot (in addition to your comments you've got a combination of SSF and RetroArch stuff in there). I'm wondering if that hasn't muddled with the cached information stored for this emulator. It could be a worthwhile endeavor to remove the cache files associated with this emulator and let GameEx rebuild them. Go in to the GameEx\DATA directory and run a directory search for *cache*. In the search results, find the cache files that correspond to this emulator (probably something like EMU_11.xxx) and delete all of them. Next find the file called EMU_11.map, and also delete that one for good measure. GameEx will now rebuild these files the next time you run it.

That might help. If you've been changing settings around, it may be the case that something went a little wonky with your cached data.

If that doesn't work, it will likely be of some assistance to have a look at your full GameEx.ini as well as your log.

"Elementary, My Dear Watson!"

Simple solution here...

RomFilter=*.cue, *.ccd

There is a comma between rom extensions instead of semicolon.

So the solution is simple: separate rom extension with semicolon ^^

RomFilter=*.cue;*.ccd is the right format.

And,in addition, Retroarch does not support .ccd extension for Yabause (Sega Saturn) core , so stick with cue and img ^^

Thank you!
I love this forum ^^
