Unbelievable!!! I was using a third party cmd line app called PowerCmd for testing... I tried windows stock and it worked first time!!

Lesson learned - if hit a brick wall, 1st test = using Windows Cmd.

Correct cmd:

demul.exe -run=dc -image="I:\EmuTests\roms\Dreamcast\Quicklaunch\Soul Calibur v1 001 1999 Namco PAL M4 zip\Soul Calibur v1.001 (1999)(Namco)(PAL)(M4)[!].gdi"

There's 10 hours of my life I'll never get back...

So, this post here made it look easy!

http://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/12094-resolved-demul-and-dreamcast/

But can I find a way to do this? (rhetorical 'no')

tried:

demul.exe -run=dc -image="I:\EmuTests\roms\Dreamcast\Quicklaunch\Soul Calibur v1 001 1999 Namco PAL M4 zip\Soul Calibur v1.001 (1999)(Namco)(PAL)(M4)[!].gdi"

and

demul -run=dc -rom="I:\EmuTests\roms\Dreamcast\Quicklaunch\Soul Calibur v1 001 1999 Namco PAL M4 zip\Soul Calibur v1.001 (1999)(Namco)(PAL)(M4)[!].gdi"

no dice...

the gdi boots fine if I load via demul gui (Config>GD-ROM>Imagefile). GDRImage plugin selected.

Demul does launch, but 'silently' - running in background processes but not visable on screen. Also, no sign of game running.

Any ideas? Very little documentation available online,.

Another wasted evening on this. Even made a script to change the rom gdi in gdrImage.ini.

I just can't get it booting from command line. Always boots as background process.

Using demul0582

Can't find anything through forums. I find it amazing that these folks make amazing code and stuff, but include virtually no docs. :(

Very frustrating and disheartening.

It happens a lot man, just keep the faith though. Some demul users are bound to see this and chip-in :) Wish i could help but i never got on with it in all honesty.

EDIT:

There is one guy i know of here, who has mass knowledge not only of demul, but lots of the obscure systems/emulators, but he doesn't frequent much any more - that was a pun in case you missed it ^_^

fRequEnCy - you could try PM him or something but he's the best on here in my opinion - the guy knows his stuff.

Nice one, Dazzle - thanks for the link. I may need this guy's expertise as going deep into the heart of emulator darkness atm...

btw - so which system do you run ikaragua on?? :)

I don't, never was a fan, but i'm sure it runs in nullDC, and Dolphin too :) In fact i have vague recollections of it running ok in both
