f4ythi
Hello, I recently started a cabinet and been using Game Ex and loving it. One of the issues I'm currently running into is that some games need multiple Roms to function. For example, to get this one game to function, it takes 3 Roms/zips to function properly. I'd like to have it so the game only appears in the list, but I'm not having much luck.I tried turning on the Merge Sets option in the Advanced Emulator setup it didn't seem to do the trick. Can someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks.
tthurman
Welcome to the GameEx forumsAre you seeing the clones? In the setup wizard go to the custom, mame and make sure "No Clones = I don't want clones"Also, please post your gameex.ini and log.txt, as this helps immensely with troubleshooting. For further information on help, please see this thread. f4ythi
The files are attached. I switched it to no clones, yet the clones appear. Though I think I'm mixing something up.Is the MAME in the home menu completely separate than the MAME in Emulated Games which is listed as [Arcade] MAME?That's where I have primarily been trying to play my games from.GameEx.iniGameEx.inilog.txt
Draco1962
I would recommend trying the integrated MAME support as opposed to the separate emulator. The settings recommended impact the integrated MAME setup only.
f4ythi
I attempted to get a couple ROMS running with the integrated MAME but didn't have any luck having them get detected. The default ROM path was C:\GameEx\Demo and dropping the .zip files didn't add the roms to the list even after clicking the Update List.
fRequEnCy
Did you change the path from the demo path?
f4ythi
Not originally. I'm changing the mapping to C:\Emulators\Mame and ROM path to C:\ROMS\Mame. When updating list it gets stuck at 25% on listinfo.datGoing to try a fresh install and start from the beginning. Been hitting a lot of walls, think I may do a fresh install and try it again. fRequEnCy
Are you giving it enough time to update? It does take a long time as GameEx does many things to build that list based on many factors.
Tempest
If your list update gets stuck at Carnevil, then you might want to read this:http://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/13566-resolved-gameex-not-listing-mame-roms-past-carnevil-since-last-update/page-4
f4ythi
Okay, it looks like its working. Originally, when updating the game list, it would get stuck at 25% on gameinfo.dat (I think?). Waited 10 minutes and it didn't move from the 25%. A fresh install did the trick for me; I most likely had something configured wrong with the pathings. I had the demo installed, and when I did a fresh install, I didn't include the demo and everything started making more sense. There's a few things I have to iron out, like the two ROM names are displayed a bit funny, but other than that it's working and playable. Thanks guys
Tempest
If you are still setting up Mame as an emulator, then you will want to use a map file to fix the names.
