Gameex Registration after Hard Drive replacement

Hey Folks,

Got a question regarding Gameex registration.

Started using Gameex in July, purchased the registration, and have had great success configuring emulators and getting everything operational, absolutely love it!! My arcade cabinet has been running Windows 8 and I have a total of four (4) hard drives installed in the PC I'm using. Tonight I removed the hard drive the OS was located on, installed a Solid State Hard Drive, and then installed Windows 7. Afterwards I re-installed the additional hard drives, minus the original OS hard drive, and all was well. After getting the PC back up and running I assumed I could install Gameex on the new hard drive and repeat the registration process from the original e-mail I received when I purchased the registration in July. That didn't work as the response to the hyperlink selection in my registration e-mail pointed out my registration had been completed previously. I still have a copy of the Gameex directory from my previous install.

Has anyone else ran into this?

I did a but of searching in the forums but was unable to turn anything up in short order. Admittedly it has been a long night and I may have missed the blatantly obvious, forgive me if this is the case.

I've not included my gameex.ini or log.txt files assuming that these would not be relevant with this issue.

Thanks in advance for all responses and to the many posts in the forums that have provided great help along the way!!!

I don't know the exact details, but it stands to reason that the reg key has some mechanism to prevent you from simply reinstalling it. If it didn't, a good chance one key would get out in the wild and be abused. If you reinstalled it on the same OS, I'm guessing all would be golden, but switching from 8 to 7 could have been the difference maker. This is purely speculation BTW.

Tom regularly checks the forums so I would give him a bit to see this post and respond. He will fix you up in short order!

Remember, he is in the UK though, so keep the time difference in mind.
