tthurman
2nd thatI just subscribed to Emu yesterday, and a combination of GameEx and EmuMovies made for a painless installation, as everything that was needed was automatically downloaded.Highly recommended!

SpyhunterUK
ok I have taken a look and it appears $30 or $60 per year which isn't bad to download all I need. Is it easy to use/setup within GameEx?Do you notice the quality difference between 480p and 240p considering the menu is taking up most of the screen display (and its a small square showing the vidoe snap within gameex). Also do you need much room on the PC tfor these movies? Thanks,Neil
tthurman
I picked the lifetime sub for $60, but I believe either gets you the 480p snaps.I was only looking for MAME snaps, so I can't speak for the rest, but have no reason to suspect it works different. In the configuration options you point to your snaps folder, enter username and pass, exit config, and open GameEX.It downloads snaps that are available according to what games you have. In my case it was about 9 GB for a full set (w/o chds)About as painless as it can get IMO.

I know the default themes use quite a small snap/vid area but they are not indicative of the many user created themes available. Many of them use a much larger area and you'll notice the difference between a 480p vs 240p a mile away on an 1080p screen.Of course if you are only intending to use an arcade VGA monitor or similar low res method then the 240p option may be better suited as you'll save quite a lot space.Don't forget too, that if you want you can create your own theme and have the media window as big as you like
SpyhunterUK
ok thanks, will probably join up later. just out of interest can you specify to only grab snaps/vids for certain emulators or all within GameEx?

Yes, you can Take a look yourself! Go to Windows menu, All programs, GameEx, Download Artwork and Videos. As stated by tthurman it'll only download media for the roms you have, and the systems you specify
SpyhunterUK
thanks but im a little confusing when trying to purchase - its $30 for annual and $60 for lifetime but then it asks to add 480p videos for another $60? So total will be $90/$120 and not 30 or 60? Is that correct?

SpyhunterUK
Emumovies - great!!! It doesn't find all my snaps and videos but hey its got most of them Thanks. One last thing though, how do I get GameEx to show the Video Previews - I have stored them in the folders and pointed each emulator video folder to the location(s) but it still only shows the snap images? Most of us here use (the recommended) Sharks Codecs, as they work flawlessly and always get vids working properly in GameEx. At least i've yet to see anyone report otherwise and i've been here 3 years The standard edition will be fine for most people, but by all means install the advanced pack if you are so inclined. Be sure to read the instructions carefully if you're using a 64bit OS and want the 64bit version as usually you need to install the 32bit version first regardless.

I have turned the video snap sound off for now which is a shame. Thanks for your help all - I will list all my emulators on the forums soon so I can then help others if required.Neil
