hansolo77
Welcome to the Forums! To be honest, I've never heard of pbp. Is it possible to convert it to an ISO?
sergio1968
yes it is possible, but I have many games in pbp format and not have the patience to convert them, and in most epsxe supports the format natively without having loads of times, so I'd rather use this format
uberpubert69
You playing ps1 games? pbp format is used mainly for playing ps1 on PSP. You may need to go to your GameEx setup wizard and change your emulator settings to say*.iso;*.pbp under your ROM FilterThen try seeing if that works. If not, you may need to gather the patience and convert them. According to this http://www.ehow.com/how_7722985_convert-files-iso-bin-files.html you only need to change your .pbp file extention to .bin. No converter needed apparently. If not, heres a converter. http://dl.qj.net/psp/tools-utilities-on-pc/psp2iso.html As I have been told, this hobby is a pain in the ass. But the end result is worth it. uberpubert69
You shouldnt use Daemon tools for PS1 emulation. just load the files natively.use this command under your emulators command line settings: "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]"Then go to your advanced emulator settings and make sure your Launch Before and Launch After settings are blank so theres no conflict. sergio1968
hello I solved the problem.I set two configuration of epsxe, a set ISO to read and another to read the pbp format, after which I joined the two emulators in a single list and it works fine. Riffman81
I believe PS1 games in .ISO format is a bad idea as the music data is sometimes corrupted or in some cases non-existant. Best to have them in .bin .cue format, with your ROM filter pointing to your .cue files. Your .cue files must match your the name of the .bin file exactly as well. In some cases, you'll need to edit the .cue file internally by opening it up in notepad and making sure the name matches exactly there as well. Just wanted to put that out there for you in case you notice some games where the music tracks aren't being played. I've never had good results with PS1 games in .ISO format. Adultery
I prefer all my games in bin/cue, then I compress them and use GameEx's ROMs in 7-zip option along with the Virtual Drive Loader plugin (even for epsxe). Saves space and works just fine.
uberpubert69
I prefer all my games in bin/cue, then I compress them and use GameEx's ROMs in 7-zip option along with the DTONE Loader plugin (even for epsxe). Saves space and works just fine. How well does that work? Compressing the PS1 ISOs I mean. Does it take a long time for the emulator to load them? Because I have a LOT. and most are in bin/cue format the others are like img and mdf. Also, what is this DTONE Loader plugin? Google provided nothing I could find as significant. I would like to save some space lol.
Adultery
Sorry I meant Virtual Drive Loader plugin for GameEx. It works fine, but it takes a minute to launch while it unpacks the archive.
