[LOGOS] Mega-Docklet Logos (WIP)

I have started work on a new series of logo packs based upon a template used to create many of the docklets for Rocket Dock found in various galleries on Deviant Art site and inspired by KRC's Ultimate Character Logos. Of course, these are 2x - 4x bigger than docklet size at 1024x1024 px.

Here are a few examples... post-5872-0-22950000-1380502453_thumb.pnpost-5872-0-81291400-1380502462_thumb.pnpost-5872-0-55566400-1380502471_thumb.pnpost-5872-0-08600500-1380502480_thumb.pnpost-5872-0-83258400-1380583465_thumb.pn]post-5872-0-39535200-1380502500_thumb.pnpost-5872-0-46715700-1380502506_thumb.pn

Docklets is just another term for icon images, but specifically for dock programs, such as RocketDock and others that reside on your desktop and look similar to Mac OS docks in appearance and functionality. Usually they are 256x256 or 512x512 pixels - most of the better dock programs will scale them down to size, however, better to scale them down to size yourself if creating custom docklets to save space and load times if you have quite a few.

I wanted to do something similar, but with the aim of larger for the "10-foot interface" experience, as well as providing more of a theme-neutral, HTPC kinda feel. Since GameEx already provides the Title text for use within the themes, my aim is more towards the graphic representation of the various logos used instead of textual.

Since Ray's project is very similar graphically (albeit much further developed and closer to completion), don't be surprised if you see some cross-pollination of images and ideas between the two projects.

Thanks! I'll be sure to provide you with a cleaned-up template. The one I am using is a hot mess.

You should see the mess my character logo psd is in, nothing is named correctly, all the layer's are all over the place, It's not a pretty sight.

Thanks! Some take much longer than others. This one for Trackball games took me about 15-20 minutes to get it the way I wanted.

While this Spinner logo took the better part of an hour and I am still not totally satisfied, but good character art for the older stuff is sometimes hard to find.
