  1. I am in the process of unzipping my artwork zips and I keep getting overwrite errors. Some are same size and creation dates but others want to overwrite newer files with older- smaller ones. Do the artwork files in particular need to be in one big folder or can they be in individual folders?
  2. I got ZSNESW to work finally by re-extracting the zip to a new directory. I had tried to delete the cfg before because the weird thing was it ran, with problems over RDC. Weird. ZSNESW is working now just fine. Now I gotta figure out mapping for XArcade stick and to do game saves and such. But its working great. I also had to unset "Roms in folders" and copy roms into one big folder. I also need to weed all the other language roms out of the all in one directory. Any other suggestions for other emu's??? They are next for tonight. I want to do GBA and NES and Genesis for now at least. I love this program Tom. Donation coming soon.
  3. Yeah, gotchya. BUT- like I said, my main reason for topic was to get a list of recommended emulators for use with GameEx. I saw ZSNES mentioned all over so I tried it. Snes9x works? Cool I got that, and it runs great already on the machine, I haven't tried it with GameEx yet.
  4. I set it to 640X480 over the weekend. I don't mind running at that too much- it is easier to read it's just when i am out in windows, all my "ok" and "apply" and "Cancel" buttons are hidden on my windows display settings, thats easily fixed by dragging the task bar off to the side. 640X480 Arcade mode on (pretty sure) I will look for "Large Fonts" and "Outline Text" and see if that helps. As far as terminal services is concerned I don't really need it to work, I just thought I would mention it.
  5. Maybe I wasn't clear before- ZNESW hangs when it runs, period. I am not referring to running it from GameEx. if I simply double click on the ZSNESW.exe it hangs the machine completly and i thought it was odd because it does run from terminal services (not usable really, but it does run) My main goal of the topic was to see if there are other SNES emulators that are recommended to work with GameEX- I have never liked ZSNES
  6. Still newbie here, Can this MNG stuff be used for the "Attract Mode" in GameEx? That would be cool. I have had the GameEx running for a few days and everytime I walk by it, it wants me to type "ok" I unchecked the "Show Game Info" etc in mame32 itself but haven't done any command line configurations that I read about yet- I had a busy weeknd. I was planning on messing with GameEx at least one of the days. My torrent of the MNG stuff just finished today so now I have even more to mess with
  7. I remember seeing that in the GameEx config. But it is something that I need to change in ZSNES too? cause it severly hangs the machine when it runs
  8. I love this GameEx and can't wait to get off "work" and go home to do some more configurations. I just started on the other emu's last night with no luck. I tried these without GameEx running. I couldn't see how to add the roms list otherwise and was thinking that if I ran ZSNES it would make up a list or something, but reading this forum it sounds like I need to make "map" files? ZSNESW loads up a nice black box and locks the whole machine up- no ctrl+alt+del no nothing but reset button. ZSNES Loads up with the top 10% of the window at the bottom of the screen and 70% of the rest loaded at the top - neat. That's about as far as I got, running back and forth from the basement where I was using Remote desktop to "TS" in to the arcade machine and back to the garage to see if it worked (this is annoying -as I am fat and lazy) I am doing this because my arcade machine is using a TV for a display and I can't read the menus very well- I think I might hook a monitor up while doing the config so I don't burn so many calories. It also helps because the display settings are a little messy going through TS. Incidentally- ZSNES works over TS and locks up when I am at the machine. It's a GeForce3, P3 800 set at 800x600. So here is the original topic question - What Emulators work good with GameEx - Mostly interested in Nintendo platforms for now. Man I am chatty, sorry I am lonely back here in this server room waiting for something to break.
  9. I am using a GeForce3 card that has VIVO and I am sending it out to a 25" Stereo TV. My problem is It looks pretty good when the games are running but it is hard to see text in the menu. I know there has to be a setting somewhere in Configuration, I have seen screen shots that looked like larger text. Anyone wanna give me a hint on where to look? Right now what I do is use Remote Desktop to log in to the arcade machine and set the config that way. BTW GameEX doesn't run over TS - at least not on my network. Readers Digest Version- Any hints on how to make GameEX easier to read on a 25" TV set? I tried doing 600X288 and it errors out. This might have been a dumb thing for me to try but I am not too keen on video stuff. Which brings me to my next question. Some games don't take up the whole screen ( Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) Is there a Mame setting somewhere that I am forgetting about? I am coming from using only Mame32 before and I don't remember having this problem. PS Thanks Tom Speirs for making this program. I have looked and looked for a front end for Mame ever since I got Mame back in .6X. I always wanted to do a cabinet and now, with this front end, my cabinet project has been taken off the back burner and tossed into the microwave!
