Im having problems ... although not earth-shattering, with GameEX since the last 3 version updates.

Specifically, when i go to play a video (havent tried a game yet, but I assume it will be the same) it takes about a minute and a half to get to the "times played" screen so I can actually play it. It hangs on the interstitial screen with the 4 white boxes and then finally goes to the times played, last played, and play screen.

I recently defragmented and that didnt help. Is there a way to just clear the times played database and see if that helps?

Or do you have any other ideas?

Thank you.

Its because its trying to download movie descriptions. You can turn this off, but it should only try to do it once per video.

Maybe the movie databse has got corrupted, and its taking a while because of an error. Ive heard it can happen. Does the movie database application work ok?

Is there a way to just clear the thing out? I suppose I can find the file somewhere in the archives here, but if you have the time, a pointer to it would be great. Ill try the editor in the meantime.

You can just delete \data\moviedatabase.mdb and install GameEx again.

I just double checked... and you are correct, it only does the check once - per playing session. If I reboot, then come to play the video again, it tries to check the description again, and if my net is maxxed out (which it frequently is) it takes 1-2 minutes to get to times played.

So it is checking the description/artwork once every reboot, not once "period."

Dunno if that helps or not.

Glad to know its working. As with most things you can turn the feature off if you like.

Edit, actually it should only do it once period, so somethings not right there.
