Hey. Using GameEx mostly for console emulation. It's a cool frontend but it's hard to distinguish between J or U games etc.. Is there a way to display region information when you are selecting games?

A flag icon is used to distinguish between regions in GameEx. If a users set is in the GoodTools naming convention it will display the flag or a user can also set the Merge Sets setting to YES in the Emulator Setup section and the flag will also be displayed. This feature will work with No-Intro/GoodSet/TOSEC naming conventions. I believe these are both registered features. An example of how this looks can be found here.

Ah, very nice. :) Looks like registering may be in order then. Thank you very much for answering my question and pointing me toward examples.

So I registered the software but I'm still not seeing the region or even the full title information like it shows in the screen shot on the other thread. I assume there is a setting or config file that can be edited to enable this? Any suggestions? Also, I removed a lot of ROMs from one directory since there were some pointless alternate dumps and such, but GameEx still shows the same number of games available despite the fact that they are no longer in the directory. Any idea how to refresh this? (Note: I did read the FAQ and look through the options but I did not see anything related to these issues)

Should be working but let's take a look at what you have set. Please export your emulator config and post it's contents. Instructions on how to do so can be found here posted by one of our mods Tempest. As far as refreshing your list it should be automatic but if not then simply find out the emulator number and delete the EMU_#.map (# being the number of your emulator) file found in the DATA folder of your GameEx install location.

Sure. Here is the setup for the particular emulator in question (although I'd like to set up additional emulators similarly).

EDIT: I tried deleting that map file which helped. Now it shows the correct number of games.

Now follow my instructions per my first post. If you have a goodname set then use 7zip support or if not then just use the MergeSets setting.

Ok, I used the MergeSets setting and it's working now. :) It's a little cryptic but I get what this setting does now. Shouldn't have any trouble with the rest of the emus. Thanks!
