First... total newbie to mame setup and gameex. (FYI, tried other FE's and like Gameex the best for many reasons... including ease of setup). I've tried to find my problem in the forum, but I haven't been able to find it.

My problem is I get gameex to load mame fine, etc... but when I go to exit the mame game after being played (by esc or via the buttons configured), it goes to a black screen, and I'm forced to reboot.

I'm running mame .136 (none of the updates with that) with the new romset. Its a fresh install. My paths for roms and files are not standard to the help documentation though....

any thoughts? Help? solutions? Any file I should include... i'm not sure the log generates an error (I'll look, but I think it hangs prior to that).

Oh.. it works fine in mame.. only when run via gameex.

Post your log.

If you got to your GameEx root directory... you'll see "ShowLog.exe" Run that, and it will show all of GameEx's information from the last time you ran it. Just select all the text and paste it here in this thread.
Whatever your problem is will probably show up in the log clear as day.

and as you can see, i've messed with different paths and version of mame prior to installing, but the mame I'm using is clean in its own directory.

Daphne runs fine and exits fine, its mame thats erroring.

IF I run last game.. it runs fine... and exits fine. its only when it goes out of mame back to gameex.

IF i run it windowed, and exit.. the system is not "crashed" but the window of where the game was running is not responding and gammex spike to 99% (and then fluctates after a minute but stays above 50%.). the task manager shows 2 applications gamex[playing:[1941-counter attack 63/60] not responding (twice)
